Ronnie O’Sullivan leads Stephen Maguire 11-5 in their 2022 Snooker World Championship quarter-final encounter, and is just two frames away from a record 13th Crucible semi-final. As Maguire’s threat faded, O’Sullivan drew away from 6-4 to win five of the last six frames in the second session.

On the opposite table, Yan Bingtao came back from a 6-2 deficit to tie three-time Crucible champion Mark Williams at 8-8. Yan, a 22-year-old Chinese player who overcame Mark Selby in the second round, is in his first Sheffield quarter-final, and he appears likely of knocking off another multiple champion after out-playing Williams for the majority of the evening.

After the opening session of their Betfred World Championship quarter-final, John Higgins led Jack Lisowski 5-3. On the opposite table, 2019 World Champion Judd Trump came back from a 2-1 deficit to take a lead over 2015 Crucible champion Stuart Bingham 5-3.
