Bungie can now attempt to branch into various mediums after the tremendous worldwide success of the Year 5 expansion. Because Destiny 2 is recognised for its hard riddles and gameplay, there are many aspects of the plot that haven’t been fully explored.

While news of Bungie hiring someone to work on a series isn’t exactly breaking, there has been a slew of new job advertisements that point to the company’s increased focus on multimedia projects and expedited speed.

The addition of multimedia to Destiny 2 is a step in the right direction

The Destiny universe’s tale is on the market for nearly eight years. With so many races, worlds, & conflicts to learn about, it takes a long time for someone to properly invest in the lore. Even then, certain details may be overlooked.

Bungie had a job posting for a Senior Executive Development role last year that included the words “TV, Film, and Transmedia.” This meant that anybody the organisation was looking to hire had to be familiar with Destiny 2’s multimedia journey.

A recent job posting, however, reveals a vacancy for a Senior Producer in Linear Media. This is to create projects that will aid in the product’s expansion into television, cinema, books, audio, & animation. According to the job description, the new hire must do the following duties:

  • Oversee production milestones.
  • Look at concerns regarding budgets.
  • Representing Destiny at the “highest quality bar.”

Destiny’s devoted fan base is well-known in the game industry. But bringing the series to new screens will assist to broaden the franchise’s appeal and accessibility. While Bungie has long planned to expand the universe. Little is known about when a potential series will be released.

Choosing a story first from the Destiny universe isn’t the most difficult task on the planet. With such vast settings spanning multiple times, worlds, or races. Players are curious as to which story Bungie will choose to pique the interest of both the community and the general public.
