According to FOX 16, when 26 year old Wallace returned to his car, he fell after suffering a heart attack. The reason for the heart attack is yet to be determined.

Medical workers attempted and succeeded in restoring Wallace’s breathing on the scene, but when Brian got to the hospital, he suffered another heart attack.

According to the site, Wallace’s father, Brian Sr., stated Wallace was in the Intensive Care Unit of a St. Louis hospital because the heart attacks had left him in a coma and with serious brain damage.

Who was Brain Wallace?

Wallace was a fan favorite after picking Arkansas over Iowa and was a star for the Razorbacks after redshirting his first season.

According to the Razorbacks’ official website, Wallace started all 12 games for the Razorbacks at right tackle, allowing only three sacks in 411 pass-blocking snaps.

Wallace played 1,998 total snaps on the offensive line for the Razorbacks over his four-year career, allowing 10 total sacks.

Leslie, his mother, praised fans and loved ones for reaching out on social media when word of her son’s passing spread, stating in a tweet, “Thank you so much for your love, prayers, and support! Brian was a big fan of Razorback country. His organs will be given in order to save the lives of others. I adore you all! FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, WPS!”

Christian Brothers College, Wallace’s old school, also issued a statement after learning of his death, stating, “Brian Wallace’s death has left me heartbroken. On and off the field, we had the pleasure of witnessing him mature into a young man. In our hearts at all times. Big fella, I adore you.”

On social media on Thursday, Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman requested prayers for the Wallace family.

After graduating from Christian Brothers College in St. Louis in 2014, Wallace committed to the University of Arkansas and redshirted his first year, according to Fox16.

He started all 12 games for the Razorbacks during the 2018 season, giving him a total of 38 games as a Razorback.
