Head to Head: 2-1
The meeting between the Greek and Argentine at the Monte Carlo Masters 2022 quarterfinals will be their fourth encounter so the head to head is currently 2-1 in favor of Diego.
Prediction
In their previous three meets, Schwartzman has won more matches than Tsitsipas. The Argentine won their first encounter in 2017 at European Open but was defeated in the second next year at Barcelona Open. Their last meeting in singles was at the ATP Cup where the tennis professional from Argentina defeated the star of Greece. Diego has reached other quarterfinals this season having some good advancements at the Rio Open where he was defeated by Alcaraz at the final and by Casper Ruud in the Argentina Open. At Cardoba Open he was outlasted by Alejandro Tabilo and at the other tournaments this season, he had some early exits including the Australian Open.
Meanwhile, Stefanos’ season was not better than his previous one. The Greek previously was defeated in the last four against Cameron Norrie at the Miami Open and against Felix Auger-Aliassime at the final of the ATP Rotterdam. The player reached the semifinals of the first Grand Slam of the year but was defeated by World No. 2 Daniil Medvedev. Stefanos is a favorite to win at the tournament as he has defeated some quality players this year so far despite Schwartzman having more experience of how to get over the No. Five ATP players.
