Kunikuzushi is a Genshin Impact character that goes by various names (Scaramouche)
Although the two names have been used interchangeably in the game thus far, the latter can be used significantly more frequently.
Who Is Kunikuzushi In The Genshin Impact Storyline, Meaning
Kunikuzushi means “Country Destroyer,” which is an appropriate moniker for a monster of Scaramouche’s stature.
After obtaining Ei’s Gnosis, he became the sixth Harbinger to cut off contact with the Fatui. Unfortunately, not much is known about him since Childe indicated that he was seeking him in that Labyrinth Warriors event in Genshin Impact 2.2.

In regards to Scaramouche, the Japanese Twitter handle expressed it best.
A traveller with a thin form and a lovely face is the best way to describe the appearance. He’s a fool’s executive officer with a lot of intelligence and a lot of combat power. The front and back of his shirt are vastly different, and he is a volatile individual.
What players in the Genshin Impact should know regarding Kunikuzushi (Scaramouche)?
His Japanese Speech Actor was also disclosed in this tweet (Tetsuya Kakihara). Only his Japanese and Chinese Voice Actors have indeed been credited as of Genshin Impact 2.6. (his Chinese one being Luyin). There is no set date for when Travelers will learn more about his English and Korean voice actors.
When travellers speak with Yae Miko after finishing the Inazuman Archon Quest series, they will learn that this “byproduct” was Scaramouche. When you choose “About the Shogun puppet…”, you’ll learn that this puppet was an Inazuman man who roamed around Inazuma blindly before the Fatui became interested in him.
She even states outright that he is the Balladeer and possesses Ei’s Gnosis. Yae Miko also mentions him in one of her voiceovers, but it’s in a different area of the “About Kunikuzushi” section.
Husk of the Opulent Dreams is a group of artefacts that references Scaramouche’s past. In some manner, each of the five compositions allude to his story:
- Bloom Times: He has a dream about a heart, which is a reference to Delusions and a Gnosis.
- Plume of Luxury: When speaking about Katsuragi, Mikoshi Nagamasa, and Yae Miko, he mentions how he can still see Tatarasuna.
- Song of Life: He claims to have been created as a puppet to confine a Gnosis and that he was not killed even though he didn’t provide much of a purpose.
- Calabash of Awakening: He is described as a schemer who has disbanded three Raiden Gokaden schools.
- Skeletal Hat: He is referred to as a Harbinger.
