RCB are awaiting the return of speedster Harshal Patel after the unfortunate demise of his sister Archita owing to illnessย
Due to a personal loss, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)’s fast bowler Harshal Patel missed the team’s IPL 2022 match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the DY Patil Stadium on Tuesday.
After learning of his sister’s terrible demise, Patel exited the team’s bio-secure bubble on Saturday. His sister who was in her late 20s had died after a lengthy battle with a disease but the family has not opened up on the cause of the death yet.

The 31-year-talent old’s and expertise will be sorely missed by RCB. With 32 scalps, he was the Purple Cap winner in IPL 2021, the joint-best in tournament history. With six wickets this season, he is RCB’s second-highest wicket-taker. Patel is a death-over specialist who can also bat in the bottom order.
Suyash Prabhudessai, a 24-year-old batting all-rounder, has been brought in to replace Harshal Patel. In 22 domestic T20s, the Goa player has scored 443 runs and taken two wickets.
However, RCB have been encouraged by the return of Josh Hazlewood, despite the absence of Patel. In recent years, the Australian hit-the-deck pacer has been outstanding in the shortest format. Moreover, he has the potential to be a game changer. He has taken the place of David Willey, an English all-rounder.
Return Date Of Harshal And Quarantine Rules
Harshal was expected to rejoin the RCB camp before of the match against Chennai Super Kings, according to reports.
Although an IPL source recently told news agency PTI that he would rejoin the squad soon, it’s unclear when he’ll return. Possibly, He may join the team before the clash against Delhi Capital which is on 16th of April.
Before joining the team bio-bubble, he would have to undergo a mandatory three-day quarantine and return a negative RT-PCR test for Covid-19.

Royal Challengers Bangalore players wore black armbands as they took the field in Mumbai against Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday in a touching tribute to Harshal Patel’s sister, who died last week.
During their IPL 2022 match against Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday, April 12, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and others were seen wearing black armbands in honour of their colleague Harshal Patel’s sister, who died earlier this week.
