The long-awaited v1.0.0 patch for Konami’s ailing eFootball 2022, which was supposed to appear soon after launch last November, will be released next week, know the release date
eFootball, the new name for PES, debuted in a dreadful state late last year, despite Konami’s warning that it would be released in a demo-like state.
Players have been waiting months for this v1.0.0 update, despite Konami’s assurances that the game would grow over time. Meanwhile, eFootball’s mobile spin-off has been delayed, and the game’s contentious premium player pack has been removed from sale.
Konami’s main concern is whether it will be able to salvage eFootball 2022 at this late point. Many commented the day after it first appeared on Steam. Most had stated that it didn’t deserve to be the worst-reviewed game on the platform (a position it has since lost to War of the Three Kingdoms), but even so, breaking the inertia of over 24,000 negative user reviews was going to be a significant challenge.
