While Ashneer was busy blowing his own horn on Shark Tank India and claiming how he had built a gargantuan company, the controversies the company was embroiled in were fast becoming public knowledge. Social media platforms were fraught with reports of how employees were treated at the company, one where firing was rampant and people were told COVID was a lie.
Ashneer eventually decided to resign after reports emerged of how his wife, Madhuri Jain had gone onto indulge in scams running into crores along with using company money to pa for her beauty treatments and vacations. Reports also came to light of Ashneer making crores by selling IPL tickets in black.
As Ashneer was wielded the axe over, it looked like BharatPe had finally gotten rid of the rot the company was covered in. However, the fresh set of events which have unraveled between CEO Suhail Sameer and Aashima, the sister of Ashneer on LinkedIn allude towards the kind of toxic culture still prevalent at the company.
Things went sour when an employee took to Twitter to talk about he wasn’t paid for March, a post which Ashneer and Aashima were quick to comment on in a bid to draw traction from the plight of employees. Irked by Aashima’s comment, Suhail retorted, telling her how the company’s coffers were bled dry due to Ashneer’s unabated scams.
