Last year, Minella Times won a historic race at Aintree with Rachael Blackmore aboard.

Blackmore became the first female jockey to win the Grand National, while Henry de Bromhead won it for the first time as a trainer. For the first time in its history, the classic race had to take place behind closed doors due of the Covid epidemic.

This year, though, the fans will return to the historic Liverpool racetrack.

Who do you think will win the Grand National in 2022?

Valentine’s Brook is the final real jumping obstacle before the second circuit, and it receives its name from the 1840 Grand National, when horse Valentine leaped it almost sideways to land rear legs first. It is located between fences 9 and 25.

The Chair, the tallest barrier, allows runners to clear both the open ditch and the width of the largest fence on take-off.

It is one of only two obstacles on the Grand National route that is only jumped once, but it has witnessed more fallers than any other fence in the famed marathon.
