Havertz made his senior debut with Bayer Leverkusen in 2016, after graduating from the club’s development academy. Havertz became the club’s youngest-ever debutant in the Bundesliga, as well as their youngest-ever goalscorer, when he made his debut. Chelsea Career
Season 2020–21
Havertz signed a five-year contract with Premier League team Chelsea on September 4, 2020. Chelsea’s second-most expensive signing behind Kepa Arrizabalaga was said to be worth an initial £62 million transfer price, which may climb to £71 million with add-ons. On September 14, he made his Chelsea debut in the 3–1 away triumph over Brighton & Hove Albion in the league opener. Havertz scored his first hat-trick and first Chelsea goals in a 6–0 home win over Barnsley in the EFL Cup third round on September 23. Havertz scored his first Premier League goal against Southampton in a 3–3 draw at home on October 17th.
He scored the game’s only goal in the 2021 UEFA Champions League Final on May 29, 2021. Chelsea beat Manchester City to win the UEFA Champions League for the second time in club history, and it was his first goal in the competition.
Season 2021–22
Havertz won the UEFA Super Cup with Chelsea on August 11, 2021, beating Villarreal in the final on penalties despite missing his penalty. In a 1–1 tie with Liverpool on August 28, he scored his first goal of the season.
Havertz scored the game-winning goal in the 117th minute of the FIFA World Cup on February 12, 2022.
International Career
Havertz was called up to Germany’s senior team for the first time by head coach Joachim Löw on August 29, 2018. He was named to Germany’s squad for their UEFA Nations League encounter against France as well as a friendly against Peru. Havertz made his international debut against Peru on September 9, 2018, coming on as a substitute in the 88th minute for Timo Werner, with Germany winning 2–1 at home. He was named to the German squad for the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament on May 19, 2021.
