2022 Women’s FIH Hockey Junior World Cup is scheduled to begin from 1st April 2022, we take a look at the format, schedule, venue, fixtures and teams of the tournament
The Women’s FIH Hockey Junior World Cup in 2022 will be the ninth edition of the biannual Women’s FIH Hockey Junior World Cup, which is held by the International Hockey Federation every two years.
It was set to take place in Potchefstroom, South Africa, from December 5 to 16, 2021. The event was put on hold on November 26, 2021, due to a new COVID-19 variation, and was later postponed, with South Africa as a possible host. The event will be held at the original venue from April 2 to 13, 2022.
Argentina are the defending champions having won the previous edition. This year also, Argentina are one of the favorites to win the tournament.

Participating Teams, Countries And Format
For the final event, a total of 16 teams qualified. Apart from South Africa, which qualified as hosts automatically, 15 other teams qualified from five other continental competitions.
In the preliminaries, 16 teams are divided into four groups and top-two teams from each group will qualify for the quarter-finals.
