Sheldon Philip Jackson is an Indian cricketer who was born in Bhavnagar on September 27, 1986 and is currently aged 35 years. Philip Jackson and Sedrene Jackson are his parents, and he has an older sister. He was born in Bhavnagar to a Christian–Greek Orthodox family.
He is a wicketkeeper-batsman who presently plays domestic cricket for Saurashtra. Since 2017, he has been a member of the Kolkata Knight Riders IPL team.
Varada Jackson is his wife. Together, they have a kid named Noah Jackson.
His Domestic Career
On February 16, 2006, Sheldon Jackson made his List-A debut for Saurashtra against Baroda in Vadodara. Unfortunately, he did not leave a lasting impression. However, he worked really hard on his game, and as a result, he has 2,096 runs in 58 List-A innings with an 82.19 strike rate.
On October 21, 2009, Jackson earned his first T20 cap against Maharashtra. However, he failed to impress on his debut once more But, he strikes back and has scored 1,240 runs in 56 innings with a batting average of 25.83 after focusing more on his batting in T20 cricket.
Sheldon Jackson made his Saurashtra debut in a first-class match. On December 21, 2011, he was given his maiden cap against Railways in Delhi.
Sheldon Jackson has 5,634 runs in 76 first-class matches in the test format. His highest best score is 186, and he has 19 centuries and 27 half-centuries for his team. He moved from Saurashtra to Puducherry recently.
His IPL Career
Sheldon Jackson has played for two IPL franchises throughout his career. At the 2013 Auction, he was signed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs. 10 lakhs. The Kolkata Knight Riders paid Rs. 15 lakhs for him two years later.
Jackson made his IPL debut against the Delhi Capitals in the 2017 season. He’s appeared in four IPL games thus far, scoring 38 runs with a strike rate of 122.58. KKR has signed him for the IPL 2022 season.
