Premier League Darts is a darts competition that debuted on January 20, 2005. Since the tournament’s debut, the matches have been aired on Thursday nights on Sky Sports. The Premier League’s deal with Sky Television for broadcasting was extended through 2010 in January 2007, according to the PDC.

The tournament, which now takes place weekly from February to May, began as a fortnightly fixture at modest venues around the United Kingdom.

The competition began with seven players and has now grown to include eight players from the PDC circuit participating in a knockout format, with evenings held around Europe at various venues.

The eight-man lineup is made up of the top four players in the PDC Order of Merit, as well as four wildcard picks.

Darts Premier League Prize Money Pool Distribution

The prize budget has continuously climbed from £265,000 in the early years of the event to a prize pool of £1,000,000 in 2022. The prize money is presently £275,000. Every night’s winner will get a bonus of £10,000 in addition to their prize. The winner of the draught will get £250,000 in prize money.

The event’s runner-up receives £125,000 in prize money. Both semi-finalists will be awarded £85,000 in prize money. A cash reward of £75,000 is awarded to the league’s fifth-place finisher.
