Warne, though, was more than simply a great cricketer. There have been and will continue to be many outstanding cricketers. Warne, on the other hand, was a one-of-a-kind individual. Warne is a whole human being, supremely skilled yet horribly damaged. Every time he went onto a pitch, he brought a special delight, spunk, humour, and cheer with him. Warne was one of a kind, fiercely competitive yet always upbeat.

The Story Of Ball Of The Century

Warne was without a doubt one of the best spinners of all time. His talent was unrivalled, and his work was sometimes mistaken for magic. The first ball he ever bowled against England, in 1993 at Old Trafford, is known as the “ball of the century” and simply “that ball” among Australian and English fans. The ball landed outside Mike Gatting’s leg stump and spun ferociously, eluding Gatting’s bat and clipping the top of his off-stump. Gatting stood frozen for a few seconds before walking away, still reeling from the events of the day.
