2022 International Darts Open Prize Money Pool Distribution
On the 2022 PDC Pro Tour, the International Darts Open was the first of thirteen PDC European Tour tournaments. From February 25 to 27, 2022, the event was held in the SACHSENarena in Riesa, Germany.
The tournament featured a total of 48 players and a prize pool of ยฃ140,000, with the winner receiving ยฃ25,000. Joe Cullen was the reigning champion and top seed in the International Darts Open but he was knocked out in the third round.
Gerwyn Price managed to win the International Darts Open for the third time in four years after beating Peter Wright 8-4 in the final. Price beat his opponent and won the tournament with a 106.95 average, three 180’s, two ton plus checkouts, and an 88.9% doubles percentage.
Tournament Qualifiers and Format
On June 28, 2021, the top 16 entrants from the PDC ProTour Order of Merit qualified for the event. These 16 players were seeded in the second round. Players from six qualifying events competed for the remaining 32 spots.
All stages before the semi-finals were a best of 11 legs match but the semi-finals were a best of 13 legs match. The final match featured a best of 15 legs match.
