5. Martin Guptill

Black Caps opener Martin Guptill hit 24 fours in his innings against the West Indies back in the 2015 World Cup. Guptill scored 237* runs in that innings becoming the first Kiwi player to score an ODI double hundred. It was the second of the only two World Cup double hundreds in cricket history.

Sri Lanka’s Sanath Jayasuriya was known for his aggressive batting. He used to bat with a very high strike rate when it wasn’t a normal thing to do unlike how it is now. Back in 2006, Jayasuriya scored 24 boundaries in his innings against the Netherlands. He scored a total of 157 runs in that innings and hit only 1 six apart from the 24 fours.

3. Virender Sehwag

Indian opener Virender Sehwag was one of a kind. He used to keep playing his shots irrespective of the situation and the opponent. In 2011 Sehwag struck 25 fours in his innings against the West Indies. He scored 219 runs of which 100 came from the boundaries alone. He became the second batsman in history after Sachin Tendulkar to score an ODI double hundred.

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar scored 25 fours in his innings of 200* against South Africa in 2010. It was the first-ever double century in the history of One Day Internationals. Out of the 200 runs, 118 came from the boundaries.

1. Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma holds the record for the most number of fours by any player in an ODI inning. In 2013, Rohit scored 33 fours in his innings against Australia. It was his first of the three ODI double centuries that he has to his name.

Rohit became the third Indian batsman after Sachin and Sehwag to score an ODI double hundred.
