After the Champions League and Europa League, UEFA has introduced the third club competition. Known by the name which is called the Europa Conference League. The latter would start from the 2021-22 season with the idea of quality teams getting a taste of the European Competitions.

It has been confirmed recently that the Europa League Group Stage will reduce from 48 teams to 32. It has also been revealed that 10 teams who are eliminated from the Europa League play-offs will drop into the UEFA Europa Conference League subsequently.

Not only that, winner of the Europa Conference League will be automatically rewarded with a place in the Europa league for the following season, unless they qualify for the Champions League.

From the starting stage, a total of 184 clubs will be involves in the Europa Conference League. Although that number will be jotted down to just 32 after derived four rounds of qualification.

The Group Stage will be the same as of how it is in the Champions League and from the next season of the Europa League. This means there will the 32 teams which will divided into 8 groups of 4 each.

Each group winner will qualify automatically for the Round of 16. From there on, it will be a play-off round between the second-placed teams in the Conference League groups and the third-placed teams in the Europa League groups to fill the remaining 8 slots for the knockout stages.

After which the Europa Conference Leagueโ€™s Format will be the same as Europa League and Champions League. Which means there will be two-legged round of 16 games, quarter-finals and semi-finals, followed by a one-off final.

With all the domestic football circuits getting completed the final list of teams are also selected. Having said that, it remains to be seen how successful this new UEFA competition can be. Especially in delivering the European Action-Packed taste to the lower ranked teams.
