The incident started off as a routine shuttle ride before it quickly escalated into a full-on clash, leaving one student shaken and another facing serious criminal charges.
Morehouse student Matthew Forestine attacks a Clark Atlanta student
The Atlanta Police Department has identified Matthew Dave Gonzales Forestine as the main suspect, who attacked a Clark Atlanta junior named Kayla Bryant. Matthew is a Morehouse student, and his actions were filmed and posted on TikTok by the victim herself. The video evidently shows Matthew lifting the Clark Atlanta student into a chokehold outside her building. Matthew holds her off the ground for several seconds as bystanders intervene, and at one point, he is even heard saying,
I should kill you, right?”
The confrontation allegedly began after he stepped on the woman’s foot, and she asked for an apology. As Matthew’s girlfriend confronted Kayla, it triggered an argument that soon escalated after they stepped off the bus.

Motive behind the attack
Based on the statements from the victim and the police, the altercation seemingly stemmed from a minor disagreement that eventually spiraled out of control. According to the victim’s account, the girlfriend’s reaction during the initial exchange mainly led to the escalating tensions.
Charges and allegations
Following the attack, authorities have charged Matthew Forestine with aggravated assault and terroristic threats. Authorities took him to the Fulton County Jail after reviewing the video and matching it with the victim’s statement.
