Odia singer Humane Sagar passes away
Humane Sagar, one of Odisha’s most popular playback singers, has reportedly died on November 17 at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. His death came just days before his 35th birthday. Fans across the state and beyond have expressed disbelief, as Sagar was still actively working on multiple projects and performing live shows.
Cause of death
Humane had been receiving treatment in the ICU for over 72 hours after developing a severe liver condition and eventually succumbed to the disease. According to official reports, Humane ultimately passed away due to pneumonia and multi-organ failure.

Humane Sagar was a renowned Odia singer who was born on November 25, 1990, and rose to fame after winning Voice of Odisha Season 2, back in 2012. Following the win, he established himself as a top singer in the Ollywood music scene, where he gained prominence for his emotive singing and wide vocal range.
Career
Humane Sagar first gained prominence after winning Voice of Odisha in 2012, following which he became one of the most sought-after playback singers in Odia. He went on to feature in cinema, recording hundreds of songs for films, albums, and devotional releases. Over the years, he went on to deliver several hit songs, including “Ishq Tu Hi Tu,” “Mu Aji Bi Bhala Pauchi Tate,” and “Hela Ki Prema.” Outside of playback singing, Humane performed at concerts, stage shows, and cultural events across Odisha and neighboring states.
Wife and marriage
Humane Sagar married his fellow singer Shriya Mishra back in 2017 after initially meeting her on Voice of Odisha in 2012. The two eventually fell in love during the show and later built a family together after getting married. However, the couple faced serious challenges, with Shriya publicly accusing him of mental and physical abuse. She also alleged that Humane had an extramarital affair, and the situation quickly escalated to police involvement. After facing months of conflict, the couple eventually reconciled in January 2023 after undergoing counselling.
Shriya Mishra is a singer and took part in Voice of Odisha. Humane and Shriya met while taking part in Voice Of Odisha in 2012 and welcomed their first child, daughter Angel in 2018.
Shriya claimed that Humane would torture her mentally and physically sating, “My husband is a celebrity for which I never wanted to malign his image. So I had kept mum despite being subjected to mental and physical torture by him for years.”
“Apart from the physical and mental torture, he used to provoke me to embrace his religion. Torture became frequent after the birth of our baby girl. When it reached an intolerable limit in last six months, I knocked the door of police station. My parents and relatives even tried their best to convince Humane. But nothing worked.
Talking about his extramarital affair, Shriya said, “There is a third person between us for which I was made to leave that house. When my parents went to his place for negotiations, they were ill-treated. I could not have made such a serious allegation against him had I not been sure about it.” In January 2023, Humane and Shriya decided to reconcile and resolved their marital dispute following counselling at the Mahila police station in Odisha.
