Ryan Williams awaiting NOC for Indian passport
Ryan Williams is currently waiting for an NOC from Football Australia as part of his nationality switch. The 30-year-old forward began the process of acquiring an Indian passport around six months ago. Ryan notably has Indian family heritage, with his maternal grandfather, Lincoln Grostate, representing the Western India Football Association during the 1950s.
Once Williams receives this clearance, he will be eligible to play for India in the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers. Notably, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has supported his case and sees it as a positive step for integrating more overseas-born Indian-origin players into the national setup.
