Authorities in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, recently arrested a 21-year-old Loyola Marymount University student named Dalton Lee Janiczek. The arrest took place after a violent confrontation just outside Philadelphia, where Janiczek allegedly fled a traffic stop and intentionally rammed into two officers. Dalton reportedly attempted to hit the two officers multiple times using his Mercedes, severely injuring both officers.
Dalton who is the son of attorney Lee now faces several charges, including attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment. Janiczek is currently being held without bail and is set to appear in court on November 4, while both the injured officers survived and remain in stable condition after undergoing surgery.
Dalton Lee Janiczek is 21-year-old resident of Lower Gwynedd and a 2022 graduate of La Salle College High School in Wyndmoor (Springfield Township).
According to Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele and Plymouth Township Chief of Police John Myrsiades, on Friday a Whitpain Township police sergeant attempted to stop Janiczek’s white Mercedes G-Wagon but he fled at a high rate of speed and crossed over the concrete median along Skippack Pike.
He is a Loyola Marymount University student and member of the college’s rowing team. During his days in greater Glenside, Janiczek was a decorated athlete and captained the Explorers’ crew team during his senior year but his history of legal troubles includes 11 criminal charges since 2023.
