Rabindra Dhant Biography

Rabindra Dhant is a young and upcoming MMA fighter who was born on November 30, 1998, in Bajhang, which is a remote district in Sudurpaschim, Nepal. Dhant grew up with limited opportunities and dropped out of school after Class 10, later moving to India for work. Despite intense family pressure and financial struggles, he refused to settle for an ordinary life. Rabindra eventually experienced a major change after discovering MMA while working in India.

Rabindra Dhant is currently 26 years old as of 2025, and stands at a height of 5 feet 9 inches (175 cm).

Weight and Reach

Rabindra Dhant currently competes in the Bantamweight division, which has a weight limit of 135 lbs (61.2 kg). Although his reach is now listed publicly, he has an impressive striking versatility, showing his solid range and technique.

Family

Rabindra Dhant comes from a modest family, whose parents live in Bajhang. His family was initially opposed to his choice to pursue MMA, in hopes of him finding a more stable job. However, they grew more supportive and proud of his achievements over time as his victories piled up.

Career and fight record

Rabindra Dhant started out his MMA journey back in 2019, when he first won the MMA Amateur National Championship in India aged just 18. However, due to passport issues, he couldn’t represent Nepal internationally, but he never gave up. After making a return home, he trained in boxing at Satdobato and later met his mentor, Diwiz Piya, who helped shape his MMA career. He later trained at Lock N Roll MMA in Patan and finally got the opportunity to train in Thailand, making his ONE Championship debut.

He gained prominence following a historic TKO win over a Russian fighter. He then co-founded the Nepal Warriors Championship (NWC) back in Nepal, where he also secured a victory against an Australian fighter. His most prominent win to date came during his recent win on August 2, 2025, where he defeated India’s Chungreng Koren via third-round TKO at MFN 17. Rabindra now has an impressive pro record of 9 wins and 1 loss.

Rabindra Dhant trains under coach and mentor Diwiz Piya, who is an expert in Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu.
