A now-viral video from Tallahassee shows Chuck E. Cheese and police walking into a kid’s birthday party and arresting the costumed mascot in front of stunned children and parents. Despite wearing the full Chuck E. Cheese outfit, officers immediately identified and detained the performer before later confirming him to be 41-year-old Jermell J. Jones. Following the incident, the footage quickly spread online, racking up hundreds of thousands of views.
The fraudster reportedly tried a similar Mickey Mouse operation and was busted for the same credit card crime six months ago and allegedly used a woman’s child support debit card for fraudulent charges.

According to arrest records from the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Jermell J. Jones faces multiple charges, including credit card theft, criminal use of personal identification, and fraudulent use of a credit card. Interestingly, Jones has had previous run-ins with law enforcement, as he was previously investigated for similar fraud charges just six months earlier. Jones was eventually released on a $1,000 bond Thursday morning.
Jermell Jones was charged with three felonies, theft of a credit card, criminal use of personal identification information and fraudulent use of a credit over two times within six months.
The arrest took place shortly after 6:30 p.m. local time at the Chuck E. Cheese on the 2800 block of Sharer Road in Tallahassee, Florida.
