India’s Representation In Alpine Skiing-
India’s first introduction with the Winter Olympics was first in the year 1964 when the polish descendent Jeremy Bujakowski represented and competed in the downhill event of alpine skiing.
India took part in the Alpine Skiing at 1964, 1968, 1988, 1992, 2006, 2010, and 2014 Winter Olympics.
In the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Mohammad Arif Khan from Gulmarg, Jammu, and Kashmir etched his name in the history by becoming the first Indian who earned a direct quota place in the men’s slalom and men’s giant slalom. It also made him India’s first and only athlete to obtain quotas in two events.
