Sonam Raghuvanshi has been charged by Meghalaya police with planning her husband Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder when they were on their honeymoon. Raj Kushwaha is now being linked to this murder case is currently being held at the Nandgarh police station.

Days after their Madhya Pradesh wedding, Sonam Raghuvanshi allegedly hired men to murder Raja, according to the police. In the midst of these events, Raja’s brother has claimed that Sonam spoke with Raj Kushwaha, who is allegedly connected to the case, on a frequent basis.
The Meghalaya police on Monday indicated that the motive behind tourist Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder could stem from the affair of his wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, with Raj Kushwaha who was Sonam’s employee planning her husband’s murder days after getting married to him.

Sonam, 24, was in a relationship with Raj Kushwaha, 20, who planned the murder on May 18 after the couple’s seven-day marriage, according to Rajesh Dandotiya, additional deputy police commissioner of Indore. Vishal Chauhan, Anand Kumar, and Akash Rajput were allegedly employed by Kushwaha to assassinate Raja Raghuvanshi.
While on honeymoon in Meghalaya, age 24 Sonam Raghuvanshi, the wife of Raja Raghuvanshi, who lives in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, vanished with her husband. Later, the authorities recovered Raja’s body. Sonam and transport businessman, age 29 Raja had an arranged marriage after which they had planned their honeymoon to Meghalaya and Assam.
Sonam’s father is named Devi Singh while she also has a brother named Govind. Although married to Raja, she was having an affair with Raj Kushwaha who was her brother’s employee and worked in his firm.
Sonam started working in her father’s company Mica after her studies and was the HR head in the company and Raj Kushwaha worked as a manager. Both of them met here and then fell in love with each other and Raj is aged 21.
Sonam’s father owns a plywood factory where Raj used to work. All the three arrested as said to have worked in Sonam’s brother, Gaurav’s company with Raj serving as the accounting manager.
Sonam and Raja got married on 11 May and just 6 days after that Sonam hatched a plot to kill Raja and Sonam’s lover Raj Kushwaha had hatched a plan to eliminate Raja.
Sonam, who was located in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday at the Kashi Dhaba, reportedly agreed with the plan and gave the three assassins their location, according to Dandotiya. He further mentioned that Kushwaha and Chauhan were taken into custody by a Meghalaya Police squad that came in Indore on Sunday.
Raja’s brother, Vipul Raghuvanshi, informed media that Sonam regularly spoke to Raj Kushwaha over the phone and that Raj Kushwaha was an employee of Sonam.

“I had no idea about those 3-4 people till the time I did not know their names… Raj Kushwaha’s name has come forward, which means Sonam can be involved in the murder… Raj Kushwaha was Sonam’s employee. They would constantly talk on the phone,” Vipul said.
According to investigators, Kushwaha was employed by Sonam’s brother’s tile distribution business. They also stated that the Meghalaya Police utilized Sonam’s phone number, which she frequently used to communicate with Kushwaha, to trace down the accused.
Arrests made in Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder
Akash Rajput, a 19-year-old from Lalitpur, was the first person taken into custody.
Vishal Singh Chauhan, a 22-year-old Indore native, is the second accused, followed by Raj Singh Kushwaha, an Indore native who is 21 years old.
The police also detained another Sagar District suspect.
