According to Meghalaya Police, age 24 Sonam Raghuwanshi, the wife of Raja Raghuvanshi of Indore, is charged with hiring a gang of assassins to kill her husband
On May 23, a few days after getting married in Madhya Pradesh, the couple vanished while on their vacation in Meghalaya. Sonam Raghuvanshi has now been located close to the Kashi dhaba on the Varanasi-Ghazipur main route, according to a senior Uttar Pradesh Police official.
Sonam and Raja got married on 11 May and just 6 days after that Sonam hatched a plot to kill Raja and Sonam’s lover Raj Kushwaha had hatched a plan to eliminate Raja.

While on honeymoon in Meghalaya, age 24 Sonam Raghuvanshi, the wife of Raja Raghuvanshi, who lives in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, vanished with her husband. Later, the authorities recovered Raja’s body. Sonam and transport businessman, age 29 Raja had an arranged marriage after which they had planned their honeymoon to Meghalaya and Assam.
Sonam’s father is named Devi Singh while she also has a brother named Govind. Although married to Raja, she was having an affair with age 21 Raj Kushwaha who was her brother’s employee and worked in his firm.
Sonam started working in her father’s company Mica after her studies and was the HR head in the company and Raj Kushwaha worked as a manager. Both of them met here and then fell in love with each other.
Sonam’s father owns a plywood factory where Raj used to work. All the three arrested as said to have worked in Sonam’s brother, Gaurav’s company with Raj serving as the accounting manager.

When Raja Raghuvanshi was discovered dead, the honeymoon of Raja and Sonam Raghuvanshi took a sad turn.
Police claimed that Sonam Raghuvanshi hired contract killers to kill her husband Raja Raghuvanshi, leading to her and three other people being taken into custody.

The Meghalaya police on Monday indicated that the motive behind tourist Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder could stem from the affair of his wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, with Raj Kushwaha who was Sonam’s employee with her planning her husband’s murder days after getting married to him.
The first person arrested is a 19-year-old Akash Rajput, from Lalitpur and the second accused is Vishal Singh Chauhan, age 22 years, from Indore, and the third is Raj Singh Kushwaha, age 21 years, from Indore. These people committed the crime on 23rd May and left soon after with Raja’s body found only on 2 June.
The fourth accused, Anand Kurmi, was arrested in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar.
Sonam was wearing a black T-shirt and black track pants at a one-stop center in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, when the first image of the “missing” Sonam appeared.
About 40 kilometers from Varanasi, in Nandganj, she was discovered close to a dhaba. The owner of the dhaba Sahil Yadav revealed that Sonam contacted someone at her house after requesting to use his cell phone with her brother telling him to call the local police. After informing the police, a team showed up at the dhaba. “She was looking upset when she came to the dhaba,” the dhaba owner stated.

Sonam was discovered in an untidy state, according to sources, however the Ghazipur police have not yet released a formal statement. Madhya Pradesh Police have been notified that she is now being held in the Sakhi One Stop Centre. We’re waiting on more information.
Devi Singh, Sonam’s father, has harshly criticized the inquiry in the interim. Speaking to media he said, “Meghalaya CM is lying regarding this case. A CBI inquiry should be done on him as well. I am sure that the CM is also lying. Union home minister Amit Shah should send the CBI there as soon as possible.”
Investigation
On May 20, the couple, who got married on May 11, departed for their honeymoon. Using a hired scooter, they arrived in Mawlakhiat village on May 22.
A search was conducted when the scooter was found abandoned at a cafe on the road between Shillong and Sohra on May 24.
The case is presently being investigated by a special investigation team (SIT), which is headed by an SP and assisted by four DSPs.
According to the DGP, the individuals arrested have confirmed that they were hired by Sonam Raghuvanshi.
