After video footage showed IPL auctioneer Hugh Edmeades collapsing during the 2022 mega auction, the latest health update is a more positive one

As the IPL mega auction for the imminent 2022 season finally arrived and the country tuned on to watch the much awaited auctions, unprecedented visuals left everyone appalled.

In the midst of the bidding for Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga, IPL auctioneer Hugh Edmeades was captured on cameras falling to the ground face first. As he lay unconsciousness on the floor, the IPL auction was curtailed with an early lunch being taken at 2:30pm IST.

While there’s no update on what happened to Hugh, there’s good news coming in with him having not only regained consciousness but having made a steadfast recovery as well. According to the latest development on his health, Hugh is said to be feeling much better with the auctions set to return come 3:30pm IST which will resume with the Sri Lankan going under the hammer.

Wanindu was on course to become the most expensive Sri Lankan player to play in the Indian Premier League with scores of team chasing him owing to his guile and sprawling skill set. Till now, Shreyas Iyer found himself having become the most expensive player in the 2022 mega auction with KKR snaring his services for Rs.12.5 crore.

He was followed by last season’s purple cap holder, Harshal Patel with South African speedster Kagiso Rabada wrapping up the top three till lunch. He are set to see a string of players take home a gargantuan payday from the ongoing auctions spread over two days with massive reshuffling taking place.
