Ajax head coach Francesco Farioli has reportedly confirmed his decision to leave the club following a dramatic collapse in the Eredivisie title race. Despite initially leading the Dutch league with nine points and seven matches in hand, Ajax ultimately lost the title to rivals PSV Eindhoven, just by a single point. Farioli had just joined the club just last summer on a three-year deal, and shared about his departure, stating:
The goals were aligned, but the vision and timelines weren’t,” he explained. “It feels right in my heart to part ways now.”
Meanwhile, Ajax’s technical director, Alex Kroes, expressed disappointment over Farioli’s exit. He expressed his sadness while praising the coach’s influence on building a strong performance culture. With preseason set to begin later next month on June 26, Ajax is now tasked with appointing a new head coach.

Agata Alonzo is the longtime partner and wife of football coach Francesco Farioli. Alonzo has reportedly lived much of her adult life in the spotlight after the Italian media first noticed her back in 2008 when she competed in Miss Italia. She eventually gained more media attention after appearing on Temptation Island six years later, as one of the show’s temptresses. Over the years, Alonzo has remained a constant and steady support towards her husband and his professional career.

Farioli confirmed the news about expecting their second child during a live ESPN interview, revealing that he won’t be present for the birth. He stated back then:
