Valeria Marquez was livestreaming to her fans in a beauty salon in Zapopan, Jalisco, when the heinous murder took place. The case is being investigated as a femicide, which is a gender-based crime that frequently incorporates sexually violent or demeaning components, ties to the perpetrator, or public exposure of the victim’s body, according to the state prosecutor for Jalisco.

Marquez was sitting at a table with a plush animal only seconds prior to the incident while livestreaming on TikTok. A someone in the background said, “Hey, Vale?” after she said, “They’re coming.” She answered, “Yes,” and then muted the sound. There were gunshots a few moments later. Before the livestream stopped, someone seemed to pick up her phone and reveal their face for a brief moment.

Valeria Marquez was a 23-year-old Mexican aesthetician and beauty influencer from Guadalajara, Jalisco, who gained over 90,000 followers on Instagram and TikTok.

She was born in 2002 and became well-known in 2021 after winning the Miss Rostro pageant. at Zapopan, Jalisco, Marquez operated a beauty boutique at the Santa María shopping plaza. While livestreaming, she was sadly killed in a targeted shooting.
She was reportedly talking to an off-camera individual, who was thought to be a delivery guy, when a shooter opened fire, hitting her in the head and chest. She passed away right away. The attacker allegedly rode up on a motorcycle, pretended to be a delivery man, and then executed the victim.
Marquez had shared a selfie from the same salon on her Instagram Story earlier that day.
