Have a look at the bio of PAF Air Vice Marshal, Aurangzeb Ahmed
A senior Pakistani Air Force official appears to have admitted his nation’s role in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, breaking years of official denial. During a press briefing, Pakistan Air Force Director General of Public Relations Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed described the deadly bombing as an act of “tactical brilliance”.
Pakistan’s long-standing claim of innocence about the attack, which killed 40 Indian paramilitary soldiers, is contradicted by this covert admission. The incident, which was carried out by the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), has long been a source of conflict between Pakistan and India.

Speaking to the media, Aurangzeb Ahmed took delight in the activities of Pakistan’s military while being accompanied by a Navy spokeswoman and Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations. He described the operation as an example of their “strategic acumen and operational progress.”
He claimed that any challenge to Pakistan’s sovereignty would not be tolerated by the military, and he appeared to defend the operations in Pulwama as a component of a greater show of might.
This disclosure contrasts sharply with Pakistan’s stance after the Pulwama attack, in which it consistently denied any involvement in spite of India’s allegations and supporting evidence that JeM was responsible for the bombing. Even though the dossier demonstrated JeM’s involvement in the attack and India’s subsequent attacks on Balakot in retaliation, Pakistan had demanded further evidence from India.
Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was captured and later freed by Pakistan after an aerial combat between the Indian and Pakistani air forces increased tensions and resulted in the downing of an Indian MiG-21.
In December 1992, Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed received his commission in the Pakistan Air Force’s GD(P) Branch. While his DOB isn’t known, he is aged between 50-60 years and his married but details about his family members aren’t available.
He has led an Operational Air Base and a Fighter Squadron during his tenure. At the Air Headquarters in Islamabad, he has held the position of Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Operational Requirements & Development).
