At the age of 19, Shahid Afridi started his career and quickly rose to prominence as Pakistan’s golden kid. He once begged his father in jest to find him a wife while he was departing for a tournament. He was unaware that his father would find his joke so offensive. Shahid’s father informed him that he had discovered the ideal girl when he got home.
Shahid was intrigued by this information and eager to see the girl his father had selected for him. His father later revealed to him that the girl was actually Shahid Afridi’s maternal uncle’s daughter Nadia, whom he had known since he was a young boy.
In 2000, the couple tied the knot in front of their loved ones. Wasim Akram and former all-rounder Abdul Razzaq, two of his fellow cricket players, were also present for his lavish yet private wedding.
For those who might not be aware, Nadia who was born in 1984 is Shahid’s maternal cousin in addition to his wife. After getting married in 2000, the couple is now proud to have five beautiful daughters: Arwa, Asmara, Ajwa, Ansha, and Aqsa.
Their eldest daughter, Ansha, married Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Afridi in 2024.
Although Nadia who is a doctor by profession isn’t frequently seen in the public, their kids are proof of their love. Nadia who is currently aged 41 was just 16 when she got married on 22 October, 2000 when Shahid was aged 20. Her husband, age 48 Shahid Afridi’s current net worth stands at $50 million.
