The Atlanta Falcons confirmed in a statement on Sunday that Jax, the son of defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, had prank called former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders in jest on the second day of the NFL Draft.
The now-Cleveland Browns player has received an apology from the 21-year-old Berry College student. Sanders was a top-5 talent going into the draft, but he dropped through the ranks and was selected by the Browns in the fifth round. But in a startling turn of events, the 23-year-old got a spoof call on Friday that he first thought was from the New Orleans Saints’ general manager Mickey Loomis, who was thought to be interested in him.

“The Falcons will not take any action against their defensive coordinator, Jeff Ulbrich,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported. “They are continuing to review their protocols to make sure something like this doesn’t happen again.”
It has been several years since Jeff Ulbrich and his wife, Cristina Ulbrich, were married. Jeff returned to football to pursue his passion after quitting his “freshman job for a sheet metal factory in northern California.”
