The incident quickly made headlines after TMZ released a video showcasing the physical altercation between Kissmayoo whose real name is Denzel Kissmayo and Demar DeRozan.

The shocking incident between the two started off when DeMar DeRozan, who is currently playing for the Sacramento Kings, was having dinner at Yume Sushi. According to eyewitness reports, Kismayoo approached DeRozan and then shined his phone’s flashlight in the NBA star’s face. This action reportedly annoyed DeRozan, who went on to knock the phone out of Kismayoo’s hand.
A scuffle seemingly broke out between the two, with video clips showing DeRozan being restrained while Kissmayoo lay on the floor, demanding to have his phone back. A woman who was dining with DeRozan also attempted to separate the two during the incident. Following the scuffle, the basketball player relocated to another area of the restaurant. Meanwhile, emergency services arrived later and transported Kismayoo in an ambulance.

Following the shocking altercation, Denzel Kissmayoo posted his version of the events on social media. He posted a video of the incident on X, with the caption:

The video shows Kismayoo from the moment he approached DeRozan, walking up to the athlete with a phone in hand. DeRozan responds:
Come on, man, don’t walk up on me.”
Just moments later, the video shows DeRozan knocking the phone away before the screen cuts to black. The video then resumes with Kismayoo in an ambulance and later entering a hospital.
