She came to Prayagraj in 2020 during the Corona period but could not get selected due to two marks less in the 2023 exam.
Raised in Prayagraj, which is known as the “Literary Capital of Uttar Pradesh” and the “Land of Confluence” (Triveni Sangam) because of the confluence of the Yamuna, Saraswati, and Ganges rivers, Shakti Dubey was surrounded by a culture that placed a high importance on learning and intellectual pursuits.

Her early urban schooling was crucial in helping her cultivate her curiosity-driven mindset and her disciplined approach to academics. The impact of Prayagraj’s academic and competitive environment may be seen throughout her journey, even though the names of her schools are still unknown.
An early source of inspiration was the city’s illustrious educational history, which is renowned for turning forth outstanding academics and public officials. Shakti established the groundwork for her scholastic success in this intellectually stimulating setting, which subsequently proved essential in negotiating the challenging UPSC syllabus.
She attended Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi to pursue a Master of Science in Biochemistry after earning her undergraduate degree in 2016. She was exposed to a greater variety of social and intellectual currents in addition to academic rigor at BHU, one of India’s top universities. Shakti’s interest in public administration and governance grew throughout her time at BHU, which inspired her to change her career path to the civil services.
Shakti temporarily began teaching after completing her postgraduate studies, while no precise information regarding her teaching responsibilities is available to the public. However, this stage demonstrates her love of learning and imparting knowledge while also assisting her in developing critical skills like mentorship, leadership, and communication, all of which are essential for a civil servant.
After earning her M.Sc. in 2018, she decided to start studying for the UPSC CSE, a move that would change her life. Shakti brought a special fusion of social science understanding and scientific rigor to her preparation by selecting Political Science and International Relations as her elective subjects. Her methodical approach demonstrated her academic background and goal-clarity.
Shakti’s father Devendra Dwivedi is posted in Prayagraj as a Peshkar of DPS and ADCP Traffic and is originally a resident of Rampur village of Bairia Tehsil, Thana Dokati of Ballia district. Her twin sister Pragati is also preparing for competitive exams while her younger brother Ashutosh is doing MCA and her mother Prema Dubey is a housewife.
