Age 22 Quaydarius Davis, a receiver for the Southern Jaguars, is accused of abusing his ex-girlfriend, Ja’ Yunna Monae, in a video that has gone viral online following their split
According to WAFB 9, football player Quaydarius Davis was taken into custody on April 12 and charged with domestic violence and battery by strangulation. He was then put into the Tulsa County Jail in Oklahoma.
The football player, who is 22 years old, was also charged with first-degree burglary.

Ja’ Yunna Monae claimed that security cameras caught the incident. She said she left the relationship because of “many red flags,” confirmed police involvement, and planned to file charges.
In the video, Davis, can be seen choking her. Commenting on her post, Monae revealed that she went to the hospital and the blood vessels around her neck are okay.
“I’m ok, my downstairs neighbors gots cameras, my upstairs neighbors got cameras pointed directly towards my door,” she wrote. “Everything is captured… I called the police ,my neighbors called the police ..I will be pressing charges , and NO I AM NOT GOING BACK . I’m the one who initiated the break up cause so many red flags were occurring.”

Age 22 Quaydarius Davis is a collegiate footballer originally from Dallas, Texas and is 6ft tall. After graduating from Skyline, Davis helped the high school finish with a 5-5 record in 2020.
Quaydarius Davis first participated in collegiate football at Jackson State University as a freshman in 2022, recording 57 receiving yards. HBCU Sports reports that Davis later transferred to Texas Southern for the 2023 season, where he scored a touchdown in a matchup with Prairie View A&M University.
According to ESPN, Davis was a member of Southern University’s Southern Jaguars for the 2024 season. However, a representative for the team told WAFB 9 that Davis was fired from the Southern Jaguars in October 2024 for breaking team rules, and the wide receiver is no longer associated with Southern University Athletics.
Davis declared that he would be logging into the transfer site as a graduate transfer with one year remaining in his eligibility. A week ago, when he revealed his upcoming move, Davis also thanked Southern Jaguars supporters, coaches, and teammates in a post on his Instagram page.
Davis began his college football career at Jackson State University, transferred to Texas Southern University, and later joined Southern University and in the 2024 season, Davis recorded 15 receptions for 151 yards and one touchdown, averaging 10.1 yards per catch.
Although rumors of Monae’s alleged domestic abuse first arose in 2021, Davis has not responded to the current or previous allegations. The University of Kansas was the first school to recruit Davis to play NCAA football. However, according to Kansan, the university’s student newspaper, the university said in a statement in March 2021 that they had discontinued Davis’ recruiting due to the investigation of domestic abuse claims against the football player.
