Renowned ballhawk Zack Hample, a favourite among MLB batters with warning-track power, has once again reached over the outfield wall and allegedly interfered with play, turning a probable out into a home run. The most recent instance occurred Tuesday at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, the home field of the New York Yankees during spring training, where the Rays will play in 2025 after Tropicana Field was damaged by hurricanes.

Los Angeles Angels second baseman Kyren Paris hit a deep ball to left centre with Tampa Bay’s Shane Baz on the mound. Hample easily reached over the wall and caught Rays left fielder Christopher Morel’s would-be out as he interfered with a home run hit by Kyren Paris.

Even though the Rays challenged the call, the umpires upheld it as a home run, which only added to the drama to see MLB fans call for him to be banned from games.
