A widely shared narrative of Mary Kate Cornett, an Ole Miss college student, reportedly having an affair with her boyfriend’s father, Erik Solis has gone viral on social media platforms
Evan Solis, the boyfriend of Ole Miss student Mary Kate Cornett allegedly stayed with her and did not discontinue their relationship despite both him and Erik Solis’ wife being aware of the affair. In late February 2025, the news became popular on Twitter and X.

The narrative was first disseminated by a group of Twitter users known as the “SEC Burnerverse,” which was made up of college-age men from SEC colleges who used “burner” accounts, alternative Twitter accounts where their identities remain anonymous.

The gang leaked Snapchat messages that described the alleged encounter between Mary Kate Cornett and Solis. A viral Mary Kate Cornett meme coin and cryptocurrency created on Pump.fun resulted from the widespread sharing of Mary Kate Cornett memes. Mary Kate Cornett was also likened to Lily Lang, another female SEC student who was involved in a comparable issue in 2024.

Her boyfriend, Evan Solis, reportedly did not break up with her afterward, and the two remained together. A group of Twitter users called the “SEC Burnerverse” initially spread the story, comprised of college-age men at Southeastern Conference (SEC) schools using “burner” accounts and Snapchat messages were leaked by the group, which detailed Cornett’s and Solis’ purported encounter.
In a Snapchat message sent by an SEC student the sender claimed that the two purportedly slept in the son’s bed because the father said, “I wanna f*ck you where my son f*cks you”.
The boyfriend and his mom had found out about the situation and the affair which took place in Houston, Texas where Solis and Cornett are from.
A Snapchat message alleged that Mary Kate Cornett paid Evan Solis $150 on Venmo to not tell anyone about her cheating on him with two other men and Solis decided to still stay with Cornett.

Mary Kate Cornett is a student of the University of Mississippi who is currently embroiled in an affair and meme coin scandal. There is hardly any information available publicly about her prior to the recent viral controversies. Mary has an Instagram account @marykate.cornett, where she has almost 4k followers and 40 posts. Following the recent scandals, Cornett reportedly set her Instagram account to private.
Mary’s mom Leslie Bleil Cornett who is based in Houston, Texas works in Office and Healthcare Tenant Advisory Services and went to Hunters Creek Elementary.

Erik Solis is the father of Evan Solis, who reportedly works as a private banker. He previously worked at Comerica Bank and attended the University of Texas. Following the viral incident, he took down his LinkedIn profile.

According to the sender, Cornett met her boyfriend’s father during a sporting event for his younger sister. They reportedly had cocktails and supper together thereafter, which is how they ended up hooking up.
Later, on February 25th, X user @Hunterlsmith_ responded to the aforementioned post by posting a screenshot of a Snapchat communication that purportedly detailed additional specifics of the encounter between Mary Kate Cornett and Erik Solis.
According to the unidentified Snapchat user, his mother and boyfriend, Evan Solis, had learned about the scenario. They also claimed that the incident happened in Houston, Texas, the hometown of Cornett and Solis.
