Organized by Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) for the first time in the year 2000 as the FIFA Club World Championship, the competition has now become a significant one, although it’s looked down upon in South America and is not exceedingly popular in most parts of Europe.
The first Championship was hosted by Brazil in the year 2000 which saw Corinthians Paulista getting crowned as the champions. As for the most successful side to have participated in the tournament, it’s none other than Spanish Giants Real Madrid who have won the competition a total of four times.
