Matthew Breetzke whose height stands at 5 feet 10 inches is a South African cricketer who was born on November 3, 1998, in Gqeberha, South Africa. He is currently 26 years old, and mainly plays as a right-arm medium bowler. Matthew Breetzke made his first-class debut for the Eastern Province during the 2016-17 Sunfoil 3-Day Cup. Breetzke is a top-order batter and outstanding fielder who has often demonstrated his ability to perform under pressure.
His brother, Chad, played school cricket. Chad, who was a keen cricketer as a youngster, shared everything he knew with his younger brother and threw him thousands of balls and even his father Kirk stepped in and threw a fair share of deliveries to train Matthew.

Career and achievements
Matthew Breetzke started out his cricketing journey with the first team of Grey High at just 14 years old. By the time that he was 16, Breetzke became a key member of South Africa’s Under-19 squad. Breetzke then featured in South Africa’s Emerging Squad for their tour to Sri Lanka in 2018.
He found success on the domestic level, playing provincial cricket for Eastern Province in the 2018-19 season. Aside from excelling in the longer format, Breetzke’s aggressive batting style enabled him to excel in T20 cricket as well. Following a series of explosive performances, he joined South Africa’s T20I team in September 2023 and made his debut against Australia. Despite his impressive run of form, he failed to join South Africa’s 2024 T20 World Cup squad. As a result, he signed with Northamptonshire to continue playing in T20 cricket.

Matthew Breetzke then made his mark in international cricket during his ODI debut for South Africa against New Zealand. Owing to his performances, he is now a part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after signing with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for ₹57 lakh ahead of the upcoming 2025 season.
