Cartwright’s squad for their pre-season clash against Castleford Tigers features an extended 28-man squad.
Joe Westerman has reflected on his time with the Black & Whites ahead of his testimonial fixture at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle. Westerman made 160 appearances for the club, joining the Airlie Birds in 2011 for a five season spell, before returning for two more years in West Hull in 2018.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s game, he added: “Both clubs are special to me; I’m a Cas lad, I’ve supported Cas since I was six years old, it was my dream to play for Cas, and I’ve been lucky to do so and come back later in my career.
“I thank Hull for making it happen, and I thank the fans for buying the tickets and I hope we put on a good game for them. Two good teams, two new coaches, two new eras for both clubs and I think it’ll be a really good contest.”

The upcoming match between the two teams is set to take place this weekend on Saturday, February 1, 2025. The match will reportedly start at 3pm (GMT)/ 8:30 pm (IST).
Hull FC will face Castleford Tigers at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle in February 2025, as both clubs celebrate the Testimonial of Joe Westerman and the fixture will be a part of both sides’ preparations for the 2025 campaign in pre-season, but it will also be an opportunity for two clubs that Westerman has represented to come together and celebrate his career, which has spanned almost two decades.
Hull will travel to West Yorkshire to face the Tigers at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle on Saturday 1st February, 2025 (3.00pm kick-off).

John Cartwright names seven new signings in Hull FC squad
Ahead of the upcoming game, John Cartwright announced seven new signings for the upcoming match. The new signings include Jordan Rapana, Zak Hardaker, Aidan Sezer, Amir Bourouh, John Asiata, Cade Cust, and Hugo Salabio. Aside from the new signings, some of the familiar names include Herman Ese’ese, Ed Chamberlain, Ligi Sao, Jed Cartwright, Jordan Lane, Lewis Martin and Denive Balmforth.
Cartwright has also selected five youth players, including Lennon Clark, Will Hutchinson, Lloyd Kemp, Will Kirby, and Joe Ward. Meanwhile, some of the players set to miss the game are Davy Litten, Jack Charles, Matty Laidlaw and Nick Staveley. All four of the players are currently out through injury.
