Allie Katch, a GCW wrestler, was taken to the hospital on a stretcher after suffering a significant injury during her match against Effy as seen in a viral video

To determine who would meet Mance Warner in the main event, Allie Katch and Effy fought in the event’s opening bout. However, following a Tope Suicida a few minutes into the bout, Katch appeared to bend her leg in an unfavourable position, forcing the combat to be called off.

The highly anticipated GCW event, The People vs. GCW, returned to New York City on Sunday. After Katch was transported to the hospital, the first match of the event was unexpectedly cancelled, and Effy was declared the winner.

Later, Katch’s friend Steph De Lander told the audience that Katch needed surgery right away after breaking two bones in her leg.

Since Allie Katch will be out of the ring for months after her surgery, her friend Steph De Lander started a GoFundMe page to help her pay for medical fees and other expenditures.

Katch yelled in pain after the incident, and footage from the event’s webcast reveals that her leg was bent abnormally. After that, the referee cancelled the game, and Katch was taken to a local hospital.

The GoFundMe effort has raised nearly $44,000 of its $50,000 target. Several other wrestlers, including Chelsea Green, Liv Morgan, Will Ospreay, Matt Cardona, and others, gave money to help Katch during this trying time. In a social media post before to the procedure, Katch thanked everyone for their support.

Katch thanked followers for their support during this difficult period in a statement posted on X.

“I still don’t have many answers, but after surgery today I was walking on crutches, putting on my own pants, and getting to use the bathroom by myself! I am still floored by the support and love and will try to update and get back to everyone. My gratitude is ENDLESS!!!” Katch posted.
