Antonin Kinsky Sr, his father is a former goalkeeper with almost 400 games across the Czech and Russian leagues and five international caps. Kinsky joined from Slavia Prague in a deal confirmed on Sunday morning, costing Spurs £12..5 million plus bonuses with him signing a contract till 2031. His salary at the club isn’t known though.
Just six months ago, Kinsky was gearing up to leave Slavia Prague on loan for his fourth consecutive season. After a successful year fighting relegation with Pardubice, the talented goalkeeper had his sights set on more first-team football. He became the team’s first-choice keeper and, just months later, has completed a £12.5 million move to Tottenham.

In 19 Czech league appearances this season, he conceded only seven goals at an average of 0.37 per match, keeping 12 clean sheets. His save rate stands at an impressive 83.3%, the highest in Europe’s top 10 domestic leagues for 2024/25. When we consider the quality of shots faced, Kinsky ranks second for goals prevented in the Czech First League, saving almost five goals more than the average goalkeeper would have.
In the Czech league, Kinsky ranks among the top six for passes made, with an impressive passing accuracy of 81.1%. His ability to distribute the ball, including a high number of short goal-kicks, aligns with Postecoglou’s preferred playing style. Kinsky is also comfortable leaving his penalty area, having the highest proportion of touches outside his box among goalkeepers in both the Czech First League and Europa League.

While Kinsky has been solid with crosses, he struggled with corner defense at Pardubice, conceding six goals from corners in the 2023/24 season. This accounted for 32% of his total goals conceded that year, the highest percentage for any goalkeeper in the Czech top flight. Spurs’ struggles with defending corners make this an area Kinsky will need to address, especially as teams may look to exploit this weakness.
