Beau Webster’s career
After playing for the Tasmania U-23 team, Webster made his first-class debut for Tasmania in February 2014 against Queensland in the Sheffield Shield in Hobart. On October 3, 2016, he made his List A debut for Tasmania in the Matador BBQs One-Day Cup for the 2016–17 season. On January 2, 2017, during the 2016–17 Big Bash League season, he made his Twenty20 debut for the Hobart Hurricanes.
Webster was appointed captain of Cricket Australia’s XI for the JLT One-Day Cup in 2017–18. He struck 121, his first List A century, in the opening cup match against South Australia, helping the Cricket Australia XI win for the second time in the team’s history. He made the decision to use his height to his advantage in 2020 by bowling at a medium pace and adding bounce to his deliveries.
