Who is G Kamalini?
Starting with a base price of ₹10 lakh, Kamalini’s value skyrocketed during the WPL 2025 auction as Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians fiercely bid for the young all-rounder. After an intense bidding war, Mumbai Indians emerged victorious, securing her for ₹1.60 crore. Kamalini became one of the most sought-after players in the auction pool, thanks to her stellar performances in domestic tournaments.
The 16-year-old who was born on July 20, 2008 from Tamil Nadu was the second-highest scorer in the U19 Women’s T20 Trophy, amassing 311 runs in eight matches and playing a pivotal role in Tamil Nadu’s title triumph in October. The Tamil Nadu woman cricketer can also keep wickets and bowl spin. Her explosive six-hitting ability, with 10 maximums in the tournament, set her apart as a standout talent.
