Authorities recently arrested Luigi Mangione at a McDonald’s outlet in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on December 9.
The arrest took place after a restaurant employee called 911 to report about a man who looked like the suspect.
Following the arrest, Mangione now faces five criminal charges in Pennsylvania and has reportedly pleaded not guilty. Moreover, he faces other charges like second-degree murder, three counts of weapons possession, and one count of forgery in New York. He is currently at the Huntingdon State Correctional Institution in Pennsylvania, with the court denying bail twice.

Thomas M. Dickey is a renowned defense attorney based out of Altoona and currently resides in Blair County, Pennsylvania who has been practicing law for 40 years. He is the founding partner of the Tom Dickey Law Offices, and according to his official website, he has practiced all kinds of law. This includes criminal, civil, family, and various others across over 50 counties of Pennsylvania and the federal court.
He is a native of Altoona.

During his childhood, Thomas Dickey attended the Altoona High School. He then pursued a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from St. Francis College University in Loretto, Pennsylvania. Following which he later obtained a law degree from Ohio Northern University.

Thomas started his career as a lawyer at the Blair County Public Defender’s Office. Later in 1984, Dickey established his own private practice and he is a death-penalty-qualified attorney. He is also a trial attorney with over four decades of experience, having fought in cases in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Moreover, Dickey has a successful streak, having acquitted several clients on charges ranging from first-degree murder to DUIs.

Earlier this week on Tuesday, Thomas Dickey told reporters that he expects his client to continue pleading not guilty. He further claimed that he has not come across any “evidence” to support that Luigi Mangione was the “right guy.” Tom Dickey is currently representing Luigi Mangione as his lead defense attorney in Pennsylvania and told CNN that he could possibly represent his client in New York as well.
Tom Dickey also shared that his office received multiple emails from people offering to help pay for Luigi’s legal fees. However, he mentioned that he hadn’t seen the emails “personally,” but his staff members were on the job. Dickey added that he “probably wouldn’t” accept the offers, as it didn’t “sit right” with him. However, he added that his client “appreciates the support.”
