Earlier, reports surfaced online indicating that the CEO of United Healthcare Brian Thompson was attacked brutally by the unidentified man.

Reportedly, Brian Thompson was attacked by a unidentified man, who allegedly fled the city by boarding a bus at the Port Authority facility at the 178th street. The suspect in the fatal shooting is still reportedly remains at large.

After the brutal attack, authorities described it as “brazen, targeted, and premeditated.” As per sources of law enforcement, the suspect boarded a bus making multiple stops en route to outside New York City.

In another update to the case, the FBI also joined the New York Police Department in a nationwide search, following the leads that came across various states.

As per the counts given by the authorities, they recovered a backpack that reportedly belongs to the suspect. The police officials recovered it during a grid search of Central Park.

The CCTV footage shows that the man was wearing the bag before the shooting, though, it was absent in the later footage, wherein he can be seen fleeing on a bicycle. The backup has now been recovered and the bag was discovered Friday evening in Central Park, where the NYPD deployed an army of officers and drones to conduct a grid search. A surveillance camera at Port Authority Bus Terminal caught his arrival at 9 p.m and the inbound bus originated in Atlanta but it was not immediately clear where the suspected boarded but sources said he was spotted on board in Washington D.C., so he boarded there or somewhere between DC and Atlanta.

Later, on November 24, the police tracked his arrival in New York City, through a CCTV footage from the Port authority bus terminal. Police is in touch with GreyHound, the bus service the shooter is said to have used with him said to have arrived in the city atleast 10 days prior to the shooting.

Meanwhile, the officials have collected DNA samples from the murder scene and they are awaiting for the results. Additional CCTV footage reveals that the suspect frequently visited the places like subway stations, cabs, Starbucks, and McDonald’s, wherein he reportedly paid in cash.

These footages shows him wearing a mask on. Furthermore, a smudged fingerprint was also recovered from a water bottle the suspect purchased. As per the NYPD, the suspect, who has yet to be identified, stayed at the HI New York City Hostel on the Upper West Side under a false name.

The camera footage also featured him unmasked face when he briefly removed his mask while checking in the hotel. As per various reports, he shared a room with two other individuals and was seen near the hostel holding an e-bike battery hours before the shooting.

Meanwhile, Riley Walz, a software engineer, said he was fairly confident about where the shooter fled to on a bike after scouring data from the Citi Bike’s bikeshare program.

On X, Reddit and 4Chan, the public has weighed in with their conclusions about the brand of the suspect’s backpack and the type of gun accessory he used with a theory claiming the gun used by the shooter appears to match a B&T VP9, an update of the Welrod pistol, a suppressed firearm developed in the Second World War with the weapon also having a sniper.

Police were able to extract a fingerprint off the water bottle the suspect acquired at a Starbucks, but the fingerprint is smudged and the new developments come after the NYPD released new photos of the suspect without a mask Thursday, from when he stayed at the hostel.

The suspect’s unmasked smile came as he flirted with the front desk clerk who checked him into the hostel, and encouraged him to drop the mask so she could see his smile.

It appears the suspect shared a room on the fourth floor with two other men, and checked into the hostel using a New Jersey license that isn’t his and while etectives ran the name and found it did not resemble any known photos of the suspect or other evidence amassed so far.

The gunman is described as 6’1″ with a tall, thin build and while his identity isn’t known, his phone has now been recovered.

Separately, surveillance footage reviewed by police shows someone who appears to be the suspect exiting the subway prior to the shooting at the 57th Street station, just blocks from the shooting scene. The suspect was spotted on surveillance footage about 5 a.m. Wednesday outside the hostel holding what appeared to be an e-bike battery.

The NYPD has offered a reward of approximately $10,000 for those who may come up with tips and information for the suspect in Brian Thompson’s murder case. As per the authorities, anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
