Beau Jacob Webster is an Australian cricketer who was born on December 1, 1993, in Hobart, Australia. He is also known by the nickname Slug. At the domestic level, he currently represents Tasmania and the Melbourne Stars. Webster mainly plays as an allrounder, and he is a right-handed batsman capable of bowling both right-arm medium and off spin. He can persistently bowl medium pace in the 125-135 kmph range.
Webster is renowned for his unique ability to bowl both spin and pace balls, which was revealed during the 2020-21 Sheffield Shield season. Notably, Webster learned pace bowling during the first lockdown period due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He has since capitalized on this unique skill set, earning comparisons to former Test cricketers Collin Miller and Andrew Symonds.

Career and stats
Beau Jacob Webster made his first-class debut for Tasmania back in February 2014 against Queensland in the Sheffield Shield. He had previously represented the Tasmania U-23 side. He then went on to make his List A debut for Tasmania during the 2016–17 Matador BBQs One-Day Cup. Webster eventually made his Twenty20 debut for the Hobart Hurricanes on January 2, 2017 during the 2016-17 BBL season.
Over time, Webster eventually became the captain of Cricket Australia XI for the 2017-18 JLT One-Day Cup. During the first match of the cup, he scored an impressive 121 against South Australia. He also scored his first-ever List A century, helping Cricket Australia XI secure the second win in the team’s history. Following his efforts, he was eventually named as the player of the match.
He also went on to become the top scorer for Cricket Australia XI against Western Australia with 52 runs. Unsurprisingly, he was Cricket Australia XI’s top run scorer for the cup with 247 runs, scoring at an average of 41.16. Back in 2020, Beau Jacob Webster learned how to bowl medium pace and utilize the extra bounce on his deliveries. Just last year in 2023, Beau Jacob Webster joined Essex for the One-Day Cup and emerged as the team’s leading run scorer as well as wicket-taker in the competition.
