Jahandad makes international debut for Pakistan

Pakistani all-rounder Jahandad recently made his international debut for coming on as a replacement for captain Mohammad Rizwan. However, he couldn’t do much on the bat, as he struggled to score five off ten balls in an inning. Jahandad will be looking to improve further with the ball during the second inning.

Jahandad Khan is a Pakistani all-rounder who was born on June 16, 2003, in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. He is currently 21 years old and mainly bowls as a left-arm pace and a left-hand batter. Jahandad currently plays for Rawalpindi and the Pakistan national team. Back in the past, he also played for Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League.

He can persistently bowl in the 130-140 kmph range.

Career

Jahandad Khan has so far played 19 T20s, picking up 18 wickets at an average of 29.50. He has also scored 154 runs at 17.11 at a strike rate of 187.80. Khan registered his best of 45 not out while playing for Lahore Qalandars during the 2024 Pakistan Super League. Jahandad mainly gained prominence during the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) 2024 Champions One-Day Cup.

During that game, he played for the Stallions, finishing as the second-highest wicket-taker (10) after Mohammad Hasnain (17). Meanwhile, in the List-A format, Jahanand picked up 40 wickets from 23 innings with an average of 24.55. Just one month later, Jahandad Khan won the Player of the Match during the Top End T20 Series. He won the achievement while playing for Pakistan Shaheens against Melbourne Renegades Academy. Jahandad managed to pick up 3-19 off 3.3 overs and 11 dots. His performances earned him a call-up to Pakistan’s T20I squad for the Australia and Zimbabwe tours.

Jahandad has also dominated in first-class cricket in his brief six-match career. He made his first-class debut for Rawalpindi in October 2023, recording 29 wickets at 23.62.
