How it happened
The tragic incident took place on the Ballupur Chowk-Garhi Cantt road, in Dehradun Uttarakhand. An Innova car, carrying seven people collided into a truck at high speed, leaving six killed and one severely injured. The group of youngsters were out for a drive at a reckless speed before a BMW car went past them. In a bid to overtake the BMW car, the car crashed into a dumper truck passing through ONGC Chowk.

After hitting the truck, the car then slid for about 70 feet in the opposite direction, before hitting a tree. The group were reportedly out for a drive after partying in Jakhan. The incident which took place around 1.30 am on Monday night, left the car completely destroyed. Notably, the accident, severed the heads of a young man and a young woman from their bodies since the roof of the car completely broke off. Meanwhile, the bodies of the other four deceased passengers were all found in a mutilated condition.
Party for new Innova Car
According to reports, one of the deceased, Atul Agarwal, had hosted a party for his friends to celebrate the purchase of his new car. Atul is the son of Sunil Agarwal, who is a renowned firecracker businessman in Dehradun. Atul had recently bought a new car on Dhanteras i.e. 30 October and hosted a party on Monday night at one of his friends, Siddhesh Agarwal’s residence in Jakhan. After the party, the group went out for a long drive late at night eventually leading to their death.
Details of the victims
Three of the victims, identified as Kunal Kukreja (23), Kamakshi Singhal (20), and Guneet Kaur (19), were all students of Graphic Era University. While Kunal and Guneet were both BBA students, Kamakshi was a B.Com. student. The other three deceased were Atul Agrawal (24), Rishabh Jain (24), and Navya Goel (23). According to reports, the deceased students belong to families of businessmen, traders, and advocates who all know each other.
All of the victims were from Uttarakhand’s Dehradun except for Kukreja who hails from Himachal Pradesh. As of now, the only survivor, Siddhesh Agrawal (25) is currently admitted to the Synergy Hospital in Dehradun, and in a critical condition.
