The tension in Brampton had continued overnight, with the area’s Peel Police deploying riot prevention teams to disperse a crowd from the Hindu community protesting against Sunday’s violent clash between Khalistani supporters and worshippers at the Hindu Mahasabha Temple after reports surfaced of “weapons being seen in the crowd”.
Tensions flared up when a group of protesters gathered near the Malton Gurdwara late at night and raised slogans.
Ron Banerjee, the Executive Director of the Hindu Conference of Canada, openly called for the Indian Army to take over the gurudwaras in Canada amidst cheers from the Indian crowd gathered.
Banerjee had earlier made his deranged statements during an interview with a YouTube channel Beat of the North during an episode titled “Will you vote for Justin Trudeau?”.

Ron Banerjee is a Canadian citizen of Indian origins and a stout follower of Hinduism. Banerjee proclaimed himself as the Executive Director of the Hindu Conference of Canada, which is a Hindu supremacist group. Banerjee is a renowned for openly making Islamophobic comments and encouraging the killings of Muslims and Sikhs. Earlier this year in April, authorities in Toronto arrested him for making violent threats against Sikhs. He is also an active member and one of the directors of a group called the Canadian Hindu Advocacy. The group stands for traditional Canadian and mainstream Hindu values.

Banerjee recently went viral after making open calls for genocide of Muslims and Sikhs in India. He made the comments while speaking on a YouTube channel, stating:
Hinduism is the way, I am hardcore Hindu nationalist. I would have Modi ruling India as well as this country (Canada). He kills Muslims and Sikh terrorists. It is awesome what Modi is doing.”
Ron Banerjee further added how he had zero tolerance for radical Islam and radical Khalistani Sikhs or any other related ideologies. Ins response, the show’s host explained that not all Muslims and Sikhs are radical. However, Banerjee simply stated in response:
Muslims need to understand that if they’re gonna need to live in our country, they got to follow our rules and if they don’t, they will get it. They will get it.”
Aside from speaking out against such people, he also gave his open support for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Banerjee stated:
I would like the Modi government to rule in this country as well as India. He kills Muslim terrorists, he kills Sikh terrorists, he is awesome..what Modi is doing.
Ron Banerjee further added:
I support the killing of Muslims and Sikhs in the Republic of India because they deserve to die.”
